Here for your consideration is a magnificent Rhodonite Cabochon. This uncommon, somewhat scarce material exudes a wonderfully rich, gemmy, bubble gum pink with dark Manganese and sparkly inclusions. The gold flecks are really cool!
Rhodonite is a manganese silicate of the pyroxenoid group, the low-temperature form of MnSiO3, and locally always contains some calcium and zinc. The Alice Mine is a reknowned silver, gold, zinc, and lead mine located in Silver Bow county, Montana.
"Manganese can have an oxidation between minus three and plus seven which takes it through a range of colors--purple, green, blue--but it's most stable state is plus two... which is usually pale pink." – Walter White, Breaking Bad
Standard radius dome. Vitreous polish front and back.
This Rhodonite cabochon will make a fantastic focal piece, either bezel set or wrapped - A very cool collectible as well!
