Here for your consideration is an outstanding Carrasite cabochon. This wonderful porcelain type jasper hails from the Owyhee mountains in eastern Oregon, not too far from where Morrisonite is found. It exhibits wonderful shades of browns, pinks, green and orange. It was originally discovered by Charlie Carras in the 1970's - hence the name. We obtain out rough directly from the claim owner, Steve Schultz of Silver Streams Northwest. It is an exceptionally hard stone that has an outstanding polish. Each cabochon is unique unto itself, even cabs from the same slab.
Standard radius dome.
This attractive cabochon will make a bold wire wrap or precious metal setting. Quite an heirloom collectible as well.
Skillfully hand cut and polished by Lexx. Photographed dry under full spectrum LED's and under direct sunlight.
