Here for your consideration is an extremely rare Gem Grade Victoria Stone cabochon. We normally don't get into cutting man made materials, but this one has a special cool factor and history to it.
Victoria Stone is a rare combination of quartz, feldspar, calcite and magnesite. Also known as Imori it was originally created and small batch manufacturered by Dr. S. Imori in the 1960's using a secret formula of natural stones, high pressure, and months of cooling to form unique cat-eye effects and crystallization. Standard grade Victoria Stone is mineralogically similar to Nephrite Jade. The cleaner gem grade, which is not listed in the original catalog is even more scarce than the cat's eye variety and exhibits no Calcite inclusion. It resembles more of an Emerald or Chrome Diopside color with rippled variations within the stone under magnification.
Very high polish front and back. The way it reflects light is unmistakable. Standard radius dome. Perfectly symmetrical.
This Victoria Stone cabochon will make a beautiful pendant, either wire wrapped, bezel set. Use your imagination. We LOVE creative people!
