Here for your consideration is a superbly banded Turkish Pseudomorph Stick Agate cabochon. This striking cabochon exhibits clear pseudomorphs with really cool multi color fortifications and invokes a vision of a wild abstract watercolor painting. Our resident mineralogist has theorized these fortifications are Quartz-Agate pseudomorph after Anhydrite as observed through infrared microscopy/spectroscopy. High quality pseudomorphs are highly prized due to their rarity. Turkish geologists believe Agates from Çubuk are "Thunderegg" core remains after the rind has been eroded away. These cores are found deep in clay resulting from decomposed rhyolitic lava.
Vitreous polish front and back. Standard radius dome. Hand crafted by Lexx.
This cabochon would make a beautiful pendant, either wire wrapped, bezel set, PMC or a collectors piece. Use your imagination!
This fine Lexx Stones cabochon is untreated and natural.
